4x3 Statistics of Past Climate Change and Future Climate Prediction

Subsequent web pages allow you to generate numerical statistics of one or two derived records. Derived records are determined from Model decade annual DataFiles (A10), Model decade monthly DataFiles (M10), and observations. Each derived record can be a difference between decades, a difference between months, a difference between simulations, or a difference between climate variables. If a single derived record is determined, then area weighted mean values and root mean square values of the record are calculated. If two records are determined, then spatial correlation coefficients, mean differences, and root mean square differences are calculated. Checkboxes to the left of a decade, month, simulation, Model climate variable, or observation determine the first derived record. Checkboxes to the right determine the second record.

The output of each statistic is a numerical table with three columns (Global, NorthHemi, SouthHemi) and 6 rows (Global, Ocean, Continent, Ground, LandIce, Lake). These tables form a web page which can be downloaded to your local disk. To see mean values for specialized regions, download the LinePlot files that are created by the Line Plot web pages.

Following is a list of Fortran programs that can produce certain statistics from datafiles on a UNIX workstation.

MEAN.FOR : prints mean values of a datafile record or the difference between two records for each hemisphere and each surface type.
RMS.FOR : prints root mean square values of a datafile record or the difference between two records for each hemisphere and each surface type.
SCC.FOR : prints spatial correlation coefficients between two datafile records for each hemisphere and each surface type.
